Kenneth Paul Doyle, 94 of Lafayette died 12:22pm Saturday, March 31, 2012 at St. Anthony Healthcare. He was born March 21, 1918 in Fowler, IN to the late Gerald P. Doyle and Leah Patnaude. He moved to Lafayette in 1925. He attended Lafayette Catholic Schools and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1936. He married Helen E. Gagen on November 29, 1945 at St. Mary Cathedral and she preceded him in death on June 25, 2010. He was a Theater Engineer for Purdue University, retiring in 1981.Kenneth was a Charter Member of Lafayette Serra Club International, member of Tippecanoe County Right to Life, member & longtime usher for St. Mary Cathedral, 3rd & 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served in the US Army during World War II. He was an officer and Board Member of the United Cerebral Palsy Association and served on the board for Wabash Center.
Surviving are 4 sons, Gerald P. Doyle (wife: Hedy) of Mooresville, NC, James R. Doyle (wife: Susan) of West Lafayette, David M. Doyle of Lafayette, Patrick J. Doyle (wife: Karen) of Kimberling City, MO, a daughter, Deborah A. Ferree (husband: Steve) of Rochester Hills, MI and a sister Patti Balter (husband: Wesley) of Overland Park, KS.
Friends may call from 5-7pm Tuesday at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Lafayette. Mass 1:00pm Wednesday at St. Mary Cathedral, Fr. Dan Gartland officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Preceded in death by 2 sisters, Helen Sondgerath, Ada Gagen and a brother, Melvin J. Doyle. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Memorials may be made to Lafayette Central Catholic or Wabash Center.
