Kathleen Keys

Kathleen Mirella Keys, 90, of Lafayette, died at Rosewalk Village Healthcare 12:06 AM Wednesday August 6, 2014. Kathleen was born in Lafayette November 10, 1923, the daughter of the late John Frederick and Emma Rottler Keys. She was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School and received her Bachelor's Degree from Purdue University and her Master's Degree from Indiana State University. Miss Keys was an elementary school teacher, having taught mostly second grade at Vinton and Durgan elementary schools, retiring in 1986 and attended St. Mary Cathedral. Surviving is a nephew, Thomas V. Keys (wife Janet) of Nolensville, TN; a great-niece Allison M. Keys and a great-nephew Alan M. Keys. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard E. Keys. The family would like to invite friends and former students to join in the visitation from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Monday at St. Mary Cathedral, Fr. Jeff Martin officiating, with the interment to follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
