Julia Alice McDaniel

Julia Alice McDaniel, 80, of Covington, TN and formerly of Benton County, IN passed away Tuesday March 19 in Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, TN. She was born in Oxford, IN September 22, 1943, the daughter of the late James and Hazel (Bennett) Shoaf and was a graduate of Oxford High School. She married Lanny Ross McDaniel at the Presbyterian Church on Oxford June 3, 1961 and he preceded her in death September 6, 2022. Julia was a long time beautician at the Cut and Curl Salon in Covington, TN and was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Covington. Surviving are three daughters, Tammy Poston (Bill) of Patoka, TN, Peggy Holton of Adel, GA, Penny Peters of Tipton, GA and a son, Tonny (Tamme) McDaniel of North Vernon, IN along with her twin sister, Judy Cooper of Fairfax, VA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie Shoaf and by two sisters, Lois Armstrong and Sue Patterson. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford, IN from 10:00 AM (EDT) until the funeral service at 11:00 AM (EDT) on Monday March 25, Pastor Deborah Parker officiating.
