Judy A Cooper

Judy A. Cooper was born September 22, 1943 in Boswell, IN to James and Hazel Shoaf. She graduated from Oxford High School.

On January 19, 1962, Judy married the love of her life, Robert “Neil” Cooper at Boswell Presbyterian Church. Together, they built a beautiful life for their family and shared over 64 years of marriage.

Judy was an accomplished baker and loved to share her homemade treats with others. She also enjoyed BINGO, gardening, and tending to her many plants. Her heart was always full when spending time and making memories with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Mema.” As the wife of an Air Force pilot, she had the opportunity to travel and live all across the United States, with Hawaii forever holding a special place in her heart.

Throughout her working years, she held many different roles. She worked at State Farm Insurance in Lafayette, IN, WBNS in radio traffic, JRB and Honeywell. She later became a Natural Nail Consultant for Amera Cosmetics Inc., which was easily her favorite.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Hazel Shoaf; her brother, Ernest Shoaf; her three sisters, Lois Armstrong, Sue Paterson, and twin sister, Julia Mcdaniel; her son, Kevin Wayne Cooper; and her grandson, Adam Travis Cooper.

She is survived by her husband Neil, her children, Curtis “Bryan’ Cooper of New Prague, MN; Kim Sinclair (Jay) of Warrenton, VA; and Kelly Ostrand (Mike) of Papillion, NE, along with six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Judy A. Cooper, 83, of Fairfax, VA, passed away at her home on September 27,2026 surrounded by her family.

Judy leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through the generations to come. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A graveside service will be held on October 8, 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Boswell cemetery in Boswell, IN. A reception for family and friends will follow at the Oxford Lions Club.
