John Haley

January 30, 1961 — August 22, 2011

John H. Haley, 50, of Oxford, IN. died at his residence in Oxford Monday August
22, 2011, due to a rollover accident while mowing. Mr. Haley was born in Marion,
IN. January 30, 1961, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Tarr Haley, and was a
graduate of Eastbrook High School, Purdue University in 1992, and most recently
from Ivy Tech, where he received a degree in wind turbine technology. He
married RebeccaS. ((Becky" Atkinson at Fowler, IN. January 30, 2003 and she
survives. Mr. Haley was an iron worker, and a member of the former Local 379.
He was a member of the 209th Quartermaster Corps, and served in Kuwait 1990
and1991 and in Iraq 2003 and 2004. Mr. Haley was a member of VFW Post 1154
in Lafayette; the Rocky Ford Blacksmith Guild; Indiana Antique Steam and Power
Association and the Indiana Blacksmith Association. Surviving with his wife Becky,
is her daughter, Dia Hitt of Manteo, North Carolina; and 3 brothers, Lonnie Haley
(companion Minnie Mansbarger of Marion, IN.; Basil Haley (wife Dawn) of
Wauconda, IL. and Nelson Haley (wife Annette) of Marion, IN. Also surviving is a
niece, Nicole Haley, and a nephew, Adam Haley, both of Wauconda, IL. Friends
may call at the HAHN-GROEBERFUNERALHOME, Oxford from 11 :00 AM until the
service at 1:00 PM Saturday, Pastor Jim Keith officiating, with military rites.
Graveside service Noon Monday, Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN. If friends
desire, memorials may be made to the Family Readiness Group, 209th
Quartermaster Army Reserve, Attn: Patti Frist, 7472 W. 12005., West Lafayette,
