Jessie Tarter

Jessie J. Tarter, 84, of Lafayette, died at Creasy Springs Healthcare 9:38 PM Saturday March 28, 2015. Jessie was born in Boswell, IN June 12, 1930, the daughter of the late Ira B. and Lou Elizabeth Prather Rogers. She was a graduate of Boswell High School and had also resided in Monitor and Talbot. Mrs. Tarter was employed for several years by the Kroger Co. as a cashier before her retirement. She married Wilbur M. Tarter at Fowler, IN December 28, 1945, and he survives. Jessie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Later Day Saints. Her husband is the only immediate survivor. She was preceded in death by a son, Russell W. Tarter. Friends may call at the Church of Jesus Christ, Later Day Saints, 3224 Jasper Street, West Lafayette from 9:30 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Thursday, Bishop James Gardner presiding. The interment will follow at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, West Lafayette. If friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
