Jean Ann Roach, 77, of Lafayette, passed away at home at 6:45 AM on Monday, June 17, 2024. Jean was born August 16, 1946, the daughter of the late James C. MD and Emogene J. Farr in Indianapolis. Jean married Jack Lee Roach at Elston Presbyterian Church in Lafayette December 1, 1984. She graduated high school from University School in Bloomington in 1964 and then studied nursing at IU. She started as a medical assistant for her father before working at various places, including Otterbein Medical Arts. However, it was her remarkable 40-year journey as a Mary Kay makeup consultant. Her dedication and passion in this role earned her the prestigious Mary Kay diamond ring. Described as sweet, friendly, and outgoing, Jean had a natural gift for making friends effortlessly. She always strived to uplift those around her and make them feel good about themselves. Her warm personality and kind spirit left a mark on all who knew her. An accomplished musician, she played the piano and flute and lent her vocals at both funerals and weddings. Her green thumb was evident in her love for gardening, while camping, fishing, and embracing the great outdoors brought her immense happiness. Actively involved in the St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Jean served as a communion minister and valued member of the RCIA team. Her affection for animals was evident in her love for cats. 

 She was preceded in death by her son Charles P. Hilger. Surviving is her husband Jack Roach of Lafayette; daughters Julianna Elsner of Arcadia and Jennifer Hilger of Nehalem, OR; stepdaughters Janna L. Roach of Indianapolis and Jennifer L. Stall of Valparaiso; brother James B. (Julie) Farr of Martinsville; sisters Jane Weiser of Colorado Springs and Julia Mascias of Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Independent Cat Society- PO Box 735 Westville, IN 46391. Special thanks to Physiocare Hospice for their exceptional care. 

 Friends may call at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Lafayette from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 23, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lafayette 10:00 AM Monday, June 24, 2024. The interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lafayette.
