Janet Jones

Janet P. Jones, 72, of Romney, IN. died at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis 6:37 PM Thursday May 15, 2014 where she had been a patient the past four days after a long battle with heart disease. Janet was born in Romney June 5, 1941 the daughter of the late Vernon E. Parke and Helen L. Baldwin Parke. She was a graduate of Southwestern High School, and attended Romney United Methodist Church. She married Ellis L. "Lee" Jones at Romney October 19, 1963, and he survives. Janet had been employed at Indiana State University in Terre Haute, and was last employed with American Trans Air before her retirement. She enjoyed bowling, reading and watching Purdue sports; loved to travel and especially loved to watch her only grandson play baseball. Surviving with her husband is her mother, Helen L. Parke of Lafayette; a daughter, Angie L. Frost (husband Toby) of Romney; a son, Mark A. Jones (wife Kathryn) of Wadesville, IN. and a sister, Carolyn Blue of Romney. Also surviving is her grandson, Christian Jones. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon E. Parke in 1974 and a daughter, Jennifer Jones in 1969. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden, from 2:00 PM until the service at 3:00 PM Monday, Pastor Chuck Tague officiating. The interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Romney. Please consider wearing your favorite Purdue attire to the visitation and service. Janet would love that!
