Helen Parke

Helen Louise Parke, 95, of Romney, IN. died at Rosewalk Village Healthcare in Lafayette 3:35 AM Wednesday Sept. 24, 2014. Helen was born in Indianapolis, IN. July 22, 1919, the daughter of the late Ernest J. and Mary Jane Keller Baldwin and attended Rushville, Lebanon and Romney schools. Helen was a homemaker, but had worked at Duncan Electric, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Delta Gamma and Alpha Zi Delta Sororities. She married Vernon Ernest Parke at Battle Ground, IN. July 28, 1937, and he preceded her in death in 1974. Helen was a member of the Romney United Methodist Church. Surviving is a daughter, Carolyn Blue of Romney and a son-in-law Lee Jones of Romney, Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Jones; a brother, a sister and a granddaughter. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Linden from Noon until the service at 1:00 PM Saturday, Pastor Chester Tague officiating, with interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery at Romney.
