Helen E. Doyle, 90, of Lafayette, died at her residence 11:35 AM Friday June 25, 2010. Helen was born in Lafayette July 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Henry W. and Mary Grace Halpin Gagen. She was a graduate of St. Francis High School in 1937, and had worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant, and later for the Lafayette Mailing Service. Helen married Kenneth P. Doyle in Lafayette November 29, 1945, and he survives. Mrs. Doyle was a member ofSt. Mary's Cathedral; the St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society; the St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary; Tippecanoe Right to Life and the Cerebal Palsy Association. She enjoyed playing bridge, working crossword puzzles , watching various sports, and was an avid Chicago White Sox fan. Surviving along with her husband is a daughter, Deborah A. Ferree (husband Steve) of Sterling Heights, MI.; 4 sons, Gerald P. Doyle (wife Hedy) of Mooresville, N.C.; James R. Doyle (wife Susan Metsger) of West Lafayette, IN.; David M. Doyle of Lafayette, IN.; and Patrick J. Doyle (wife Karen) of Kimberling City, MO. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and a niece, Paula M. Gagen of Tucson, AZ. Preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Friends may call from the Rosary at 3:45 PM until 7 PM Tuesday at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 AM Wednesday, St. Mary's Cathedral, Fr. Dan Gartland, celebrant, and Msgr. Fred Potthoff, Fr. Bob Klemme, and Fr. Ambrose Ziegler, concelebrants officiating.
