Gregory Martin

Gregory Jerome Martin, 59, of West Lafayette, died at his residence Thursday January 21, 2016 suddenly and unexpectedly. Gregory was born in Rensselear, IN August 12, 1956, the son of Elizabeth Jane Conlin Martin and the late George Jerome Martin. He was a graduate of Lafayette Central Catholic High School and attended Purdue University. He retired from Tate and Lyle as a lab supervisor where he was employed for 23 years. Gregory owned and operated GJM Construction since 2000 and also was employed by Andy Frain Security, working Purdue Athletic events. He enjoyed gardening and had a lifelong love for the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. Surviving is his mother, Elizabeth Jane Martin of Lafayette; a daughter, Tricia Rausch (Matt) of Lafayette; a son, Joshua Martin of Lafayette; five brothers, Dennis Martin (Ann) of Lafayette; David Martin (Amy) of Kentucky; Vincent Martin (Chelsea) of West Lafayette; Peter Martin (Leah) of Lafayette; Tobias Martin (Leah) of Portland, OR; a sister, Patty Payne (David) of Lafayette; and his companion Sandy Eismin of West Lafayette. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Clare, William, Violet, Mak and George along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from the Rosary at 3:45 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday January 27. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Cathedral Thursday January 28, 10:30 AM, Fr. Jeff Martin officiating.
