Gregory Yantis

Gregory G. Yantis, 57, of Lafayette, died at Signature Healthcare of Lafayette 10:45 AM Wednesday May 18, 2016, where he had been a patient the past ten days. He was born in Frankfort, IN March 27, 1959, the son of the late Donald E. and Patricia (Wann) Yantis. Gregory was a graduate of Terre Haute North High School and served in the U.S. Marie Corps from 1976 until 1979. He married Karen S. Mendenhall in Lafayette Feb. 5, 1999, and she survives. Gregory had been employed at Wal- Mart on Veterans Memorial Parkway in Lafayette as a supervisor in the meat and produce department the past eight years and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge in Lafayette. Surviving with his wife is a step-daughter, Christina Walters (Brian) of Indianapolis; two step-sons, Craig Bratton of Lafayette and Daren Prose of Indianapolis; two brothers, Stephen Yantis (Stephanie) of Lafayette and Dale Yantis (Kathy) of West Lafayette; and a sister Lisa Yantis of Terre Haute, IN. Gregory’s wish was to be cremated and that no services to be held. If friends desire, memorials may be made to St. Ann’s Soup Kitchen, 612 Wabash Ave., Lafayette, IN. 47905.
