Gayle (Pribie) Guthridge passed away peacefully at home on April 9, 2026.

She was born on April 25, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Herbert and E. Orabelle (Garriott) Pribie. Gayle spent her early childhood in Chicago before moving with her family in November of 1946 to rural Clinton County (Fickle), Indiana. After beginning her education in Chicago, she attended Jefferson School in Clinton County, graduating in 1958.

Following high school, Gayle was employed at Purdue University in the Civil Engineering Department for seven years while also taking classes. She later moved to San Francisco, California, where she lived for two years before returning to Lafayette. Upon her return, she resumed work at Purdue and went on to build a successful career in real estate sales and investments.

In 1973 and 1974, Gayle worked for Congressman Earl Landgrebe and also spent a short time working in Washington, D.C.

Gayle married David E Guthridge on February 14, 1974, and the couple made their home in Fowler. She became involved in the family business, G & G Insurance and Guthridge Real Estate, where she worked until her retirement in 2010.

She was an active and dedicated member of her community. Gayle was a member and past president of the Omicron Chapter of Tri Kappa and remained involved with the Associate Chapter. She also served as past president of the Fowler Chamber of Commerce and was actively involved in local industrial and community development for many years.

Gayle was a member of Fowler United Methodist Church, where she participated in numerous committees throughout the years. In 2016, she was honored to serve as a Torch Bearer for Benton County’s Bicentennial celebration.

Family and friends will remember Gayle for her kindness, dedication to her community, and the meaningful relationships she built throughout her life.

She is survived by her nephew, Michael (Yvonne) Park, whom she loved as a son; stepdaughter, Carol Banta; grandchildren, Anastasia (Josh) Bullock, Brock and Brody Banta, Antonio Park, Alexandria (Austin) Woods, and Alec (Shelby) Park; and eight great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen (Milton) Campbell of Manhattan Beach, California, and Sandra (Richard) Gable of Colfax, Indiana; her brother, David (Jacquie) Pribie of Lafayette; several nieces and nephews; and her cousin, Beth (Richard) Lancaster.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Guthridge; her parents, Herbert and Orabelle Pribie; and her sister, Ruth Park (Walter).
