On May 5, 2014, our beloved Everett “Paul” Taylor passed away of apparent heart failure. Paul was a loving brother, father, and grandpa and an exceptional human being. Generous and kind, he held himself to a code of conduct few could attain. Paul was born in Danville, IL. July 13, 1960, the son of Carol G. (Morlan) Springgate and Gerald L. Taylor. He was a graduate of Benton Central High School in 1978, and enlisted shortly thereafter in the U. S. Marine Corps, serving from 1978 until 1989. For the past 24 years, he has been an associate at SIA, most recently working on the engine line. Surviving are two daughters, Lindsay Taylor (companion Nathan Holt) of Lafayette, IN.; Barbara Bender of Maryland; a son, Joseph Taylor (fiancé Katherine Bott) of West Lafayette, IN.; his mother, Carol Springgate of Lafayette, IN.; his father and stepmother, Gerald L. and JoAnn Taylor of Crawfordsville, IN.; two sisters, Shelley Taylor of Anderson, IN.; Valerie Taylor of Lafayette, IN.; a step-sister, Marvina Steiner (husband Rick) of Indianapolis, IN.; four grandchildren, Logan Holt; Annie, Allie and Rorie Bender; a nephew, Phillip Taylor (wife Heather) and an expected grandson in July. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jessica Taylor; a brother, Jeff Taylor and his step-father, Don Springgate. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 10:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM Saturday, Pastor Dwight Johns officiating.
