Esther Gressley

Esther J. Gressley, 84, of Lafayette, and formerly of Mesa, AZ. and Clearfield, PA. died at Wesley Manor in Frankfort, IN. 11:00 P.M. Friday January 29, 2010 where she had been a patient since 2006. Born May 2, 1925 in Clearfield, PA., the daughter of the late James Brisbin and Eva Aurand Beard, she was a graduate of Clearfield (PA.) High School, and attended the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL. She was first married to Leonard D. Braund in November, 1946, and was later married to Denver Gressley January 1964, and he preceded her in death January 2002. Mrs. Gressley was a homemaker, but had been employed as a secretary for Gem City Realty, and had also worked for Dillard's Department Store, both in Mesa, AZ. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Apache Junction, AZ. Surviving is a daughter, Connie D. Sears (husband John) of Lafayette, IN.; 2 sons, Larry Braund (wife Mary) of Layton, UT., and Garry Braund of Tucson, AZ.; and a brother J. Thomas Beard (wife Joann) of Clearfield, PA. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, Ryan Sears, Cort Sears-Massey, Lindsay Mputubwele, Kindra Dalach, Jennifer Mounts, Erin Braund and Valerie West; and 6 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by 1 sister and 1 brother. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 3:00 P.M. until the service at 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, Rev.
