Dorothy Maxwell

Dorothy J. Maxwell, 93, of Lafayette, IN formerly of Terre Haute, IN passed away at Creasy Springs Healthcare in Lafayette Tuesday January 4, 2022 at 4:53 PM. Dorothy was born in Terre Haute, IN December 10, 1928, the daughter of the late Alonso and Viola (Dilks) Cooke and was a graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute. She married Alex Murray Maxwell in Terre Haute January 30, 1953 and he survives. Dorothy was a retired bookkeeper, employed at Columbia House in Terre Haute for many years. Surviving is a son, Murray Maxwell of Lafayette, IN; a daughter, Jane Weyrich (Blake) of Cincinnati, OH and a sister Mary Lou Reed (Kenny) of Missouri. She was preceded in death by two brothers. A family memorial service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute.
