Donald Behler

Donald J. "Don" Behler, 77, of Lafayette, died Monday December 21, 2015. He was born in Lafayette, IN January 7, 1938, the son of the late Louis C. and Anna Marie Hoefer Behler and was a 1957 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. Don was employed as a machine operator for Ross Gear/TRW and retired after 40 years of service. He attended St. Lawrence Catholic Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing and watching all kinds of sports. Surviving is a daughter, Marsha Murray (husband Dennis) of Kansas City, KS; a brother, Fran Behler of Lafayette, IN; six sisters, Marge Wilson (husband Jim) of Monticello, IN; Carolyn Himes, Nixa, MO; Barb Ahler, Lafayette, IN; Nancy Jernagan of Monticello, IN; Kay DeFreese of Attica, IN; and Betty Jones (husband Jack) of Delphi, IN. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Denise Allen (husband Ben), Kristina Bohrer (husband Ryan) and Dennis "Bucky" Murray; and by two great-grandchildren, Jonah Allen and Aedan Bohrer. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Ann Behler; and three brothers-in-law, Bill DeFreese, Don Himes and Terry Jernagan. Friends may call at St. Lawrence Catholic Church from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Monday December 28, Fr. Eric Underwood officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Lawrence Catholic Church or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
