Diane M. Frey

Diane M. Frey, 84 of Lafayette, passed away on October 14th 2026, at St. Mary’s Healthcare Center.

Diane was born on October 1, 1942 to the late Roland and Catherine Martin. Growing up, she was the only girl alongside 3 brothers. She attended St. Mary’s in grade school and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1960.

Diane married Robert Frey on September 19, 1970 in Lafayette and he preceded her in death on September 2, 2018. She worked in sales at ALCOA for 30 thirty years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Ann’s Soup Kitchen, American Legion post 11, Eagles Aerie 347 and the ALCOA retiree club as well as the ALCOA 25 year club.

She was a social butterfly known for her wit and humor, who enjoyed walking at the mall, school group outings, traveling, friend lunches, golfing, serving at fish frys, most importantly spending time with family.

Diane was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rick and his wife Sandy Martin, Tom Martin; niece Krista Frey.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Robin Banks; brother, Jerry L. Martin; nephews, Jeffery (Sherry) Martin, Douglas (Kristy) Martin, Anthony (Julie) Martin, James Frey Jr., Michael Frey; nieces, Jennifer (Wes) Phinney, Heather (Billy) Burton, Marie (Ken) Gillies, Debrae Frey, and Dawn Coopman; and sister-in-laws, Denise Martin and Sherry Frey.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 19, from 5-7 pm at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home in Lafayette. The Mass of Christian Burial will be the following day at 10 AM at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lafayette, IN. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Cathedral or the American Legion Post 11. Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home of Lafayette is honored to serve the Frey family.
