Delvie Hicks

Delvie Hicks, 91, Lafayette IN (formerly New Richmond, IN) passed on May 23, 2026. Born March 6, 1935 in Harlan, KY to Millard and Clara Jackson. She married Mont E. Hicks on August 24, 1953 in Mousie, KY. She was a beloved cook at Coal Creek Central HS for many years. Delvie was known for walking everywhere, she loved going to church, visiting with her best friends at their monthly get together at the McDonalds. Delvie was a devoted care giver for many people over the years.

She is survived by one son: Dana Mont (Nadine) Hicks, two daughters: Lenora (Ray) Lasic and Sheila (Gary) Cook, a brother Lester (Reva) Jackson and one sister Dottie Rogers.

8 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, May 27th at Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home located in Linden. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice. Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home is honored to care for the Hicks family.
