David O'Neil

David Lee O'Neil, Sr., 63, of Talbot, IN. died at Indiana University Arnett Hospital in Lafayette noon Wednesday December 12, 2012 where he had been a patient the past 3 weeks.
David was born in Raub, IN. February 5, 1949 the son of the late Jess and Wanita Reed O'Neil, and was a graduate of IVY Tech with a degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. He married Donna K. Vice at Johnson City, Kentucky February 2, 1974, and she survives. He was employed as an LPN, and also was a self employed truck driver. He served in the US Army for 3 tours of duty in Viet Nam, and also served with the Indiana National Guard, retiring with the rank of Staff Sergant in 2009 with over 20 years of total service. David was a member of the Tri County Baptist Church at Ambia; a member of the VFW Post at Earl Park; a member of the American Legion; the 40 & 8 and the AMVETS.
Surviving with his wife are three daughters, Marcia Drake (husband Greg) of Lafayette, IN.; Teresa Whitehead (husband Rick) of South SIde, TN.; Lisa Houlihan (husband Bob) of Wabash, IN.; and by two sons, David L. O'Neil, Jr. of St. Simons Island, GA. and Richard Easterday of Washington, IN. ALso surviving are 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, Oxford, IN. at 11:00 AM Monday, Rev. Daniel Meese officiating. Interment with military rites will be held at Boswell Cemetery.
