David Neibert

David Kenneth Neibert, 72, of Lafayette, died at 2:45 a.m., Monday, October 31, 2011, at St. Elizabeth East after a short illness.

He was born July 31, 1939, to Jacob Kenneth and Dorothy (Kuenle) Neibert in Dayton, Ohio. He married Jean Ann O'Connor on August 26, 1961, in Lafayette at St. Boniface. She died January 21, 1991.

He moved to Lafayette as a child, graduated from Lafayette Jeff in 1957 and attended Purdue University. He was a self-employed electrician and then went to work as a quality assurance inspector for Keiser & Keiser/Reith Riley in Lafayette. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary Cathedral in Lafayette.

He is survived by a brother, Michael (Gloria) Neibert of Lafayette, and six children: three sons, Bradley (Libby) of New Richmond, Brentley (Sherri) of Lafayette and Matthew (Jennifer) of West Lafayette; and three daughters, Anne (Larry) Gamble of Romney, Mary Elizabeth (Mark) Keiser of Lafayette and Meghan (Adam) Clarkson of Lafayette; and 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren: Audrey Keiser Mills (husband Kyle, children Jackson and Madison), Heidi Frances, Kylee, Lindsey and Sean Keiser; Jordan, Alexandra and Christian Gamble; Brandon, Tyla and Halle Neibert; and Emma and Rhett Clarkson.

He was preceded in death by a sister in infancy.

Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 5 until 8 PM Thursday, with the Rosary service at 4:45 PM Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral 10:30 AM Friday, Rev. Daniel Gartland officiating, with interment in St. Boniface Cemetery.
