David Derringer

David J. Derringer, 66, of Oxford, IN. died at his residence in Oxford 7:30 PM Wednesday September 18, 2013.
David was born in Lafayette, IN. January 27, 1947, the son of the late William E. and Ruth Parkman Derringer and was a 1965 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He married Julia M. Campbell in Ventura, CA. November 20, 1973, and she survives.
David served in the U.S. Navy from 1965 until 1987, working as an aircraft mechanic, and later was employed at the Indiana Veterans Home from 1997 until 2008. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 11 and the 40 & 8, Voiture 364.
Surviving with his wife are three brothers, James Derringer of Lafayette, IN.; Michael Derringer of Memphis, TN. and Jack Derringer of Santa Cruz, CA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Derringer.
Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St. from 11:00 AM until the service at 1:00 PM Saturday. Father Kevin Hurley officiating. A private family interment service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the 40 & 8 Nurses Scholarship Fund.
