With great sadness we announce the passing of Catherine Rohrman Morehouse, 91. Our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her home on March 2, 2022. She was born November 15, 1930 in Lafayette, IN, to the late John and Velma (Ringwald) Rohrman. She graduated from St. Francis High School, Lafayette, IN in 1948. Catherine is survived by her loving husband Donald James (Jim) Morehouse. They were married on September 1st, 1950 and celebrated 71 beautiful years together. She was a devout Catholic and proud member of St. Mary’s Cathedral, Lafayette, IN. Catherine enjoyed crocheting, gardening her flowers, traveling, and baking sweets and making Christmas candy with her grandchildren. She was a proud stay at home mother raising 5 children. Once they left the nest, she worked as a part-time Tax Preparer at Pherson & Associates CPA (formerly known as Painter Gulbranson). Along with her husband Jim, she is survived by her sister Rita Crowell (Bill) of Lafayette and brother Bernard Rohrman of Spooner, WI; 5 children, Gary Morehouse, Hilton Head, SC, Gayle Blair (Mickey Giordano, Hilton Head, SC, Debbie Fotia (Paul) of Schererville, IN, Dave Morehouse (Ellen Sexson) and Nancy Sorenson (Brad McNeil) of Lafayette, IN; 12 grandchildren, Tim, J.T., John, Patrick, Mike, Christine, Catherine, Karmen, Kelly, Ashley, Craig, and Alyssa; and by 11 great-grandchildren, Austin, Alley, Chase, Gracie, Lexi, Owen, Evan, John, Eve, Eli, and Amelia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Eunice “Peggy” Christian, Marie Tyrrell, Maxine Switzer, Mildred “Judy” Kennedy and Leota “Lee” Andrews; 3 brothers, Donald, Joseph and Robert “Bob” Rohrman along with a great-grand-daughter, Hannah Blair. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday March 10 in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Lafayette, with inurnment following in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fr. Dennis Faker officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Caritas of Birmingham, 100 Our Lady Queen of Peace Drive, Sterrett, Alabama 35147 (mej.com) in Catherine’s name.
