Carol A. Edmundson

Carol A. Edmundson, 85, of Lafayette, passed away at 4:15 PM Saturday February 10 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Lafayette June 10, 1938, the daughter of the late Chet Gard and Mary (Haffner) Gard and was a 1956 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. Carol married John E. Edmundson at St. Lawrence Church in Lafayette September 14,1957 and he survives. She started her working career at a young age, first at Lafayette Life, then serving lunch at the Tick-Tock. Carol was employed at Purdue University for 27 years as a secretary in the Electrical Engineering Department before retiring. She was a member of the Jeff Class of “56” gang and was very active in the PTA when their children attended Longlois School. During one of the PTA talent shows, she wore a burlap dress and sang “Secondhand Rose”. Surviving with her husband John is a daughter, Tammy Guenther (Jr.) of Lafayette, a son, Aidyn Edmundson of Lafayette, a sister, Mary E. Scott of Lafayette and a brother-in-law, Bill (Diane) Edmundson of Lafayette. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, John Welsh, Emily Claton, Kayla Fuqua, Ashley Eads, Shelby Luedke, Andreanna Maynor, Steve Edmundson, Chloe Edmundson, Diederich Brewer, Tre Edmundson, Layton Edmundson, Oliva Edmundson, Ethan Edmundson and Malakie Edmundson and by 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson, a daughter, Penny Edmundson Welsh Prather and a sister, Shirley Bennett. Friends may call at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette from 4 until 7 PM Thursday February 15. Funeral Services will be held at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home 10:30 AM Friday February 16, Pastor Rick Puckett officiating, with interment following the service in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
