Brian Stephen Muehl was born August 11, 1965, to Stephen and Betty Muehl in Lafayette, Indiana. He is a 1983 alumnus of Central Catholic High School (Lafayette), and he achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Purdue University after which he pursued and achieved his Master's Degree in Chemistry from Ball State University. He worked as a medicinal chemist at Eli Lilly and Company for 15 years and went on to pursue multiple professional endeavors in FDA regulated industries. Most recently, he was a Regulatory and Quality Affairs Project Leader at Stryker.
Brian is probably best remembered by his passion for comics and graphic novels. He loved collecting comic book memorabilia, attending comic and sci fi conventions, and becoming an accomplished published author in the medium of sequential art. In addition to this passion, he devoted his life to raising his daughter, Sierra, gardening, watching Doctor Who, and spoiling many rescued cats over the years.
Brian is survived by his daughter, Sierra Muehl; parents, Stephen and Betty Muehl; sisters Pamela (Tony) Wade, Anjanette Indelicato, and Carrie (Andreas) Muehl; his nephews Jordan Wade, Anthony Wade, Ethan Lang and niece Jessica Wade; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Although we are deeply sad that Brian has passed, it's clear that he has created a legacy of bringing joy and laughter. His favorite way of doing this was to share silly and corny jokes, usually that he came up with on his own. To honor him, we would love for you to submit a funny joke. It can be one that Brian told you, one that you've told him, or just one that you think Brian would have appreciated. These are going to be compiled and shared with his daughter, Sierra.
