Brent David Martin, age 54, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away on December 28, 2025 at The Springs of Lafayette. He was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana on April 6, 1971. Brent is the son of Richard Martin, who preceded him in death, and Marsha Martin.
Brent married the love of his life, Mariah Martin, on March 23, 2013. He was a devoted husband and a proud father to his two sons, Alex Kauffman (fiancé Juliet Smith) and Evan Martin.
Brent earned his bachelors in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University & a bachelors in Elementary Education from Indiana University. He then went on to get his masters from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. He was a dedicated educator at Lafayette Sunnyside Intermediate School, where he taught 5th and 6th grade Excel math and science. His passion for teaching extended far beyond the classroom, as he was deeply committed to mentoring and supporting youth through athletics and leadership.
Brent was a faithful member of Faith Ministries East. He also served the community as President of Lafayette Youth Baseball and was an assistant high school baseball coach at Lafayette Jefferson High School and Central Catholic High School. His impact on young athletes and students will be remembered by the many lives he influenced.
