Betty Jean Anderson, 87, of Oxford,IN. died at Indiana University Health, Arnett Hospital in Lafayette 2:35 AM Monday October 3, 2011 shortly after admission. She had been in failing health the past year. Mrs. Anderson was born in Freeland Park, IN. March 1, 1924, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Blanche Hancock Cotner and was a 1943 graduate of Oxford High School. She married Jess C. Anderson in Oxford December 8, 1945, and he preceded her in death June 11, 1998. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker, and a member of the former Oxford Presbyterian Church, now. the Federated Church of Oxford. Surviving is a sister, Rosemary Bowling of Chebanese, IL. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the HAHN-GROEBER FUNERAL HOME, Oxford from 10:00 AM until the service at 11:00 AM Thursday, Larry McMillan officiating, with interment to follow in Oxford West Cemetery.
