Berniece Vachon

Berniece E. "Liz" Vachon, 71, of Lafayette, died at Clarian Arnett Hospital 7:30 A.M. Sunday February 7, 2010 where she had been a patient the past 4 days. Born November 12, 1938 in New Haven, IN. the daughter of the late Robert Leo and Genevieve M. Ternet Vachon, Sr. she was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Ft. Wayne, IN., and had resided in Lafayette since 2003. Ms. Vachon had been employed as a cook at New Haven (IN) High School, and was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Lafayette. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, yard work and reading. Surviving is a daughter, Michelle Stoyanoff of Lafayette, IN.; a son, Michael Stoyanoff (wife Jill) of Greenwood, IN.; 4 sisters, Mary Catherine Miller of Ft. Wayne, IN.; Carolyn Schmidt (husband Don) of Decatur, IN.; Marie Zahm (husband Jack) of Huntington, IN. Genevieve Orr of New Haven, IN.; 2 brothers, Robert Vachon, Jr. of Ft. Wayne, IN.; and Raymond Vachon of New Haven, IN. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven, IN. 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Fr.
