Benjamin Wallace Lowry, 78, of Lafayette, died at Rosewalk Village Healthcare Center 3:45 AM Tuesday December 9, 2008 where he had been a patient since October 3. Born in Fisherville, KY. December 25, 1929, the son of the late Benjamin Wallace and Fannie Bell Leet Lowry, he had resided in Lafayette since 1963. He was a graduate of Eminence, Kentucky, High School, and was named an All State Basketball Player in high school. He married Karen F. Spencer at Kentland, IN. August 3, 1963, and she survives. Mr. Lowry served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, and had worked as transportation manager for Construction Products in Lafayette. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed landscaping and fishing, and was an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan. Surviving with his wife is a son, Benjamin Wallace Lowry IV of Monticello, IN. Private family services will be held. Also surviving is his Mastiff, Dirk, and his Beagle, Bruiser. Preceded in death by 2 sisters.
