Roscoe L. “Bud” Johnson, 77, Lafayette, passed away in his residence on Sunday, February 10, 2013. Bud was born January 10, 1936 to Courtney & Essie Johnson. In 1952, Bud joined the Air force , serving six years. He worked at the Journal & Courier for 32 years, earning several Salesman of the Year awards. He retired in 2007. Bud loved fishing with family and friends and watching birds in his backyard. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and drove cars for Bob Rohrman Automobiles. He was a lifetime member of the Eagles, American Legion, and the Forty and Eight. In 1979, Bud married Mary Lou Johnson, who survives. In addition to his wife, he leaves one sister, Phyllis Bower, two brothers: Denny and Dale, one daughter, Tami, two sons, Chuck (wife Terri) and Robb, two stepdaughters; Joy McGuire Bishop and Angela McGuire Trop (husband Jeff), and one stepson, Mike McGuire (wife Sharon). Bud had nine grandchildren: Madison Lyons, Satchel Newton, Frayne Whittington, Russell and Cody Johnson, Corey and Keenan McGuire, and Aubrey and Adam Bishop, and five great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 14 from 5pm - 7 pm with a service at 6:30 PM at the Hahn-Groeber Funeral Home, 1104 Columbia St., Lafayette. Memorial contributions may be made to Food Finders Food Bank. Memories and condolences may be left at www.hahngroeberfuneralhome.com. Bud will be greatly missed, but his family is at peace knowing he has “gone fishing!”
